Excluded Jurisdictions

This list applies to the Prize Vault at protocolx.io and the Draw service at raffle.protocolx.io. It is read directly by the software that enforces it, so the list below and the behaviour of the sites are always the same.

What is restricted

Until an interface operator and prize sponsor are designated for the Prize Vault, paid deposits and paid competition entries are unavailable to persons located in, resident in, or organised under the laws of the jurisdictions below. Withdrawals, claims, and free-entry routes are available everywhere. Organisers located in these jurisdictions may not create competitions.

Why

Prize-linked products are regulated as sweepstakes, lotteries, prize competitions, deposit-taking or financial promotions in many places, and the rules differ by jurisdiction. Northlatch Labs LLC develops and licenses the software; it is not the operator or sponsor, and it does not make representations about the legality of the products in any jurisdiction. Until an operator who holds the relevant authorisations is designated, paid participation is restricted where the risk of non-compliance is highest.

The list

Comprehensively sanctioned territories (participation prohibited in all forms): Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine, and any other territory subject to comprehensive sanctions by the United States, the United Kingdom or the European Union; and any person on a sanctions list maintained by OFAC, HM Treasury or the EU.

Paid participation restricted pending operator designation:

• United States of America (all states and territories)
• United Kingdom
• Canada (Quebec in all cases; other provinces pending operator designation)
• Australia
• Singapore
• China (mainland), Hong Kong SAR
• Japan, South Korea
• Turkey
• Any jurisdiction in which the person's participation would be unlawful

This list may be changed by Northlatch Labs LLC at any time by publishing a new version here with a new effective date. A narrower list may apply once an operator is designated and has obtained the relevant authorisations.

Use of VPNs or location spoofing

Circumventing these restrictions is a breach of the Interface Terms and the Participant Terms and may result in forfeiture of prize eligibility. It does not affect your ability to withdraw your own deposit.
